Marilyn Josephine Marsden of Fenton formerly of Davison, age 79, died Wednesday July 19, 2017 at McLaren-Flint. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 12:00 noon Monday July 24, 2017 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church 404 Dayton St. Davison. Fr. Robert C. Bacik Celebrant. Rite of committal will follow at St. John Cemetery. Family will receive visitors from 3 – 8 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Marilyn will lie in state at the church from 11:00 am Monday until time of services. She was born in Davison Michigan on February 27, 1938 the daughter of the late Harry & Josephine (Pietrasz) Schaeffer and had resided in the Davison area in her earlier years spending most of her life in Fenton. Marilyn was joined in marriage to Robert Marsden on March 15, 1958 in Flint and he preceded her in death on August 28, 2002. She was a graduate of Davison Schools Class of 1956, and had been a member of UAW Local 659. Marilyn was employed by General Motors V-8 Engine Plant until her retirement. She leaves to her memory sons: Robert and wife Theresa Marsden, Craig and wife Dana Marsden, and daughter in law Kerry Marsden. She also leaves her nine grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. Marilyn also leaves her loving siblings; Walt and wife Rose Schaeffer, Harry and wife Jean Schaeffer, Betty and husband Leon Tarrant, and Josephine Bowman.
