Luanne Vanderkarr was born the third child to Wayne and Mina Middleton Vanderkarr on January 14, 1945 in Owosso, Michigan. She grew up in Corunna, Michigan and attended schools there, graduating in 1963. She then attended Asbury College and Spring Arbor College, and on June 11, 1965, married Eldred Kelley and together they spent the next fifty-six years joyfully serving their Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.

Eldred and Luanne have two sons, Doug and Michael. They and their families are all serving Jesus.  Doug is married to Anna and they have four children.  Jeremy, an Engineer, is married to Chantal and is father to Juliana, Jameson, and Josephine; Whitney, an Oncology Nurse is married to Austin; Caleb is a Mechanical Engineer; and Joshua is in business with an automotive company.  And Michael is married to Angela and they have two daughters. Abby is finishing her business degree at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, and Ashley is pursuing a degree in aeronautics at Letourneau University in Longview, Texas.

According to everyone who knew her, Luanne's main gifts pointed everyone to the Cross of Jesus Christ. Listen to some of the comments heard about her. She:

• was a positive bright light;
• lit up every room she entered;
• was the life of the party;
• was the glue that held the family together through the many tough times of life;
• was an illustration of the Proverbs 31 woman, and about her husband it is said, "he lacks nothing of value because of her".
  
  And today, while we obviously deeply mourn, her children, grandchildren and all who knew her personally give testimony that walking with Jesus is made easier by walking in the footsteps of "Grammie".
  
  Funeral services will be held on Monday October 11, 2021 at 1:00pm at the Cass City Missionary Church 4449 Koephgen Rd. Cass City. The Rev. Phil Burkett and Rev. Greg Reynolds officiating; burial will follow in Novesta Township Cemetery. Family will receive visitors from 10:00 am Monday until time of services at the Church. "In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Luanne's name to Simpson Park Camp 70199 Campground Rd.
