Lillian Joan Funsch of Flint, age 83, passed away on Tuesday May 19, 2015. Lillian was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on February 3, 1932, the daughter of the late Joseph Anthony and Julia Elizabeth (Ambrose) Powell. She was joined in marriage to Paul Thomas Funsch on October 20, 1951 at St. Anthony Church in Pennsylvania. Lillian had resided in the Flint area since her marriage. Lillian was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Davison. She is survived by daughters Ann Marie Funsch and Paula Eastman, her grandchildren James Hoover, Paul (Kathryn) Hoover, Joseph (Jessica) Hoover, John Paul Homer, and beloved great grandson Brendan Hoover. She also leaves her sister Mary Wall, sister-in-law Kay Collinsworth and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by 4 of her siblings and her husband Paul (February 3, 2014).
A Catholic Mass will be celebrated for both Lillian and Paul at 12:00 noon Saturday May 23, 2015 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 Dayton St., Davison. Burial will follow at Flint Memorial Park with Military Honors for Paul. Family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Friday at the funeral home. Lillian and Paul will lie in state at the church from 11:00 am Saturday until time of services.
