Lester Milton Young Jr. of Davison age 85, died Wednesday December 27, 2017 at Briarwood Convalescent Center. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon Tuesday January 2, 2018 at Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel, Downtown Davison. Dr. Joseph Novak officiating, Military Honors under the auspices of Davison American Legion Post 267 will follow. Private burial will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery. Family will receive visitors from 10:00 am Tuesday until time of services. Lester was born in Pontiac Michigan on June 22, 1932, the son of the late: Lester &Daisy (Murphy) Young and has resided in the Davison area the last twenty years. He was joined in marriage to Mary Lee Clark on December 17, 1955. Answering the call of his country Lester proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War in the Army Security Agency. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and had been an active member and Past Commander of Davison American Legion Post 267. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 62 years Mary Lee, daughter Kay (Keith) Harding, son Mark (Sherry) Young, and their grandchildren: Matthew Young, Alex Harding, and Sarah Harding.
