Lena F. (Frasher) Illig of Clio, age 89, was taken to her heavenly home by Jesus on Thursday April 23, 2015. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am Monday April 27, 2015 at Mayfair Bible Church 5339 W. Pierson Rd. Flushing. Pastor Jerry Beach officiating, with burial in Thetford Township Cemetery. Family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Sunday at Hansen Funeral Home Downtown Davison. Lena will lie in state at the church form 10:00 am Monday until time of services. Those desiring may make contributions in her memory to the charity of your choice. Lena was born in Mancelona Michigan on January 23, 1926 the daughter of the late John and Lillie Mae (Wilson) Frasher. She was joined in marriage to Herman H. Illig Sr. on December 13, 1941 and he preceded her in death on January 30, 2001. She resided in the Flint-Beecher area where she raised five children and helped her husband run Shorty's Detroit Street Market from 1950 to 1972. In 1984 they moved to Millington. After her husband Herman death she moved to Clio. She was a member of Mayfair Bible Church. She was a hard worker and loved the Lord, music, and crocheting. She will be sadly missed and never forgotten by many. She leaves to cherish her memory Son, Herman H. Illig Jr and wife Linda of Thompsonville, Kathleen and husband Boyd Bumgardner of Millington, Karen and husband Jerry Licquia of Burton, daughter-in-laws Sonya Illig of Davison and Nancy Illig of Arizona. She also leaves nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. Lena is preceded in death by sons Jerry Illig and Michael Illig.
