Lavena Fern (Blimka) Mooney of Grand Blanc, formerly of Fenton age 65 died Sunday March 24, 2013 at her residence. A Memorial Service will be held at 12: 00 noon Wednesday March 27, 2013, at Grace Bible Church 2164 E. Grand Blanc Rd. Grand Blanc. Rev. David Boillat and Rev. Hal Phillips officiating: private burial in Perry Mount Park Cemetery, Pontiac Michigan. A gathering time will be held from 11:00 am Wednesday until time of service at the church. Those desiring may make contributions in Lavena's memory to the Lavena Mooney Memorial Fund. Lavena was born in Ira Virginia on June 9, 1947 the daughter of Roy and Hester (McClanahan) Mooney, and had resided in the Fenton area most of her life. Lavena attended both Grace Bible Church and South Mundy Methodist Church. She was involved with Relay for Life and was actively involved in athletic department for U of M Basketball. Lavena was employed by Tru-Green /Chem Lawn Care Co. for over 20 years. She is survived by her children: William Blimka III, Kim and husband Gary Propst, and John and wife Rebecca Blimka; grandchildren: William Blimka IV, Christian Blimka, Amanda Davidson, Alyssa Blimka, and Noah Blimka; great grandchildren: Eleanor Blimka and Olivia Blimka; mother Hester Mooney; sisters: Brenda and husband Robert Pettis, and Gabrielle Bustin, and host of other relatives.
