Weary of reading obituaries noting someone's courageous battle with death, Larry wanted it known that he died as a result of being stubborn, refusing to follow doctor's orders and raising hell for more than eight decades.

Larry Thomas Matthews of Davison, age 82, died Tuesday April 7, 2020 at Hurley Medical Center. Private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Thursday April 16, 2020, Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski Celebrant. Private inurnment will be held at Parkview Cemetery, Livonia at a later date.

Larry was born in Detroit Michigan on October 3, 1937 the son of the late: Layton Dewindt & Dorothy Louise (Race) Matthews. Larry has lived in numerous areas including; Detroit, New York, Chicago, New Jersey, California, Texas, Missouri, and South Carolina. He was joined in marriage to Nancy Winiarski on January 19, 1963 in Livonia Michigan. Answering the call of his Country Larry proudly served in the US Air Force. After leaving the military Larry became a Technical Representative and Sales Manager in the Corporate Aviation Industry.

Larry leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife Nancy, daughter Shauna Marie Kelly, and son Keith Matthews. He also leaves his brother Rodger Matthews and his children Eric, Gregory, Jill and Andrew He is preceded in death by son Scot, parents Bud & Dorothy, brother Randy, sister-in-law Emma Lou, and in-laws Henry & Helen Winiarski.
