Larry Norman Coon formerly of Davison, age 78, died Sunday November 28, 2021 at Hurley Medical Center. Honoring his wishes cremation has taken place. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4 – 7 pm Wednesday December 1, 2021 at Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel, Downtown Davison. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am Thursday December 2, 2021 at St. Andrew Episcopal Church 1922 Iowa Ave. Flint.

Larry was born in Flint Michigan on January 27, 1943 the son of the late Norman & Wilma (Crafts) Coon and had resided in the Davison area for many years. He also lived in the Flint-Burton area until retiring to South Carolina the last ten years. He was joined in marriage to Diana Ellsworth on February 1, 1964 and she preceded him in death on November 20, 2020. Larry was a graduate of Davison High School Class of 1961. Larry had a true love for music playing guitar and even taught at Flint Institute of Music for many years. He enjoyed reading and spent time writing short stories. He had been employed by General Motors AC Spark Plug Division until his retirement in 1987.

He leaves to cherish his memory children: David (Dianna) Coon, Rebecca (Brian) Litteral, and Sarah (Richard) Dinnan. He also leaves his loving grandchildren; Tiffany, Christina, Keith, Serena, Jacob, Madilyn, Alanna, Cassandra, and great granddaughters; Farah, Ava, and Haidynn. He is also survived by siblings; Denny (Dawn) Coon, Joe Coon, and a host of extend family and friends. He is preceded in death by his brother Al Coon.
