Kenneth C. Houston of Davison, age 87, died Tuesday May 23, 2017 at his residence. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday May 27, 2017 at Hansen Funeral Home Groves chapel, Downtown Davison. Pastor Dr. Carl Petty officiating, with private burial in Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive visitors from 1-4 and 6-8 pm Friday at the funeral home with a Masonic Memorial Service Friday evening at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions in Ken's memory to the Shriners Children's Hospital. Kenneth was born in Lupton Tennessee on June 7, 1929 the son of the late Thomas & Savannah Houston and has resided in Davison and had spent many retirement years in North Fort Myers, Florida. He was joined in marriage to Jacqueline Louise Gitgood on September 7, 1952 and she preceded him in death on September 22, 2006. Answering the call of his country Kenneth served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a Master Mason of the Masonic Rite Davison Lodge 236 and Genesee Welfare Lodge 517. He also was an active member of the Shriners Mini Cars. He was employed by General Motors Ternstedt Division and was elected President of UAW Local 326 serving for fourteen years. Kenneth also was employed as the Director of Genesee county Animal Control until he retired from that position. Surviving are sons: Randy & Nancy Houston of Burton, and Jeffrey & Toni Houston of Davison. He also leaves his grandchildren Staci Houston Lambaria and husband Andy, Corrie Martin & husband Dave, Nicole and fiancé Josh Randt, and his great grandchildren; Madison Martin, Miranda Martin, Wade Martin, Brooklyn Lambaria , Marlo Randt, and special friend Lucia, and a host of other relatives.
