Kayla Anne Smith of Burton, age 33, passed away Tuesday October 31, 2023 at Ascension-Genesys Hospital after her long battle with Rett Syndrome. Honoring the family wishes cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Those desiring may make contributions in Kayla's memory to the funeral home.

Kayla was born in Flint Michigan on July 14, 1990 the daughter of Phillip Smith and Patricia Rusaw and has resided in the Davison-Burton area her entire life. Those of you that knew Kayla fell in love with her immediately because of her sparkling blue eyes and beautiful smile. Kayla loved to listen to Country Music and enjoyed time with her loving family members.

She leaves to cherish her memory mother Patricia Barber, and father Phillip Smith. She also leaves her brother Harbour and wife Pam Smith, niece Bailee Jane, and nephews: Harbour Jr., and Casey James. Her loving grandparents Mike and Peggy Rusaw, grandmother  Sandra K.
