Obituary

Kay Y. (Taylor) Newman of Davison, age 86, died peacefully at home on Saturday August 28, 2021 from a brain tumor. Honoring her wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm Tuesday August 31, 2021 at Hansen Funeral Home. Family will receive visitors from 3:00 pm Tuesday until time of services. Those desiring may make contributions in Kay's memory, for final expenses to the Hansen Funeral Home.

Kay was born at home in Richfield Township on January 9, 1935 the daughter of the late Wilson and Ella Bernice (Bentley) Taylor and has resided in the area her entire life. Kay started work at the Social Security Administration in 1983 and was a dedicated employee until her retirement from SSA Office of Disability, Adjudication and Review in 2015 at the age of 80.

Kay was a devoted mother to Steven and Sandra and loved her grandchildren, and great grandchildren "A bushel and a Peck". She loved all animals, but especially her dogs. She enjoyed flower gardening, the beach and puzzling. She was also known for always having a camera in her hand when family was around.

She is survived by her son, Steven D. Newman and wife Kim, daughter, Sandra L. Newman, grandchildren: Brian (Dawn) Newman, Barbara (Chris) Edwards, Cassandra Newman, and great grandchildren Morgan Newman, Carter Newman, and Noella Millington.  She also leaves sisters; Pat Rief, Gail (Bob) Jennings, and brother Wilson "Bill" (Nina) Taylor.
