Kathryn Schaaf of Davison, age 88, died Wednesday October 19, 2016 at Melody Pines Assisted Living. A funeral service will be held at 12:30 pm Saturday October 22 2016, at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church 8192 Davison Rd. Davison. Rev. Edward A. Borycz will officiate with private burial in Davison Cemetery. Family will receive visitors Friday October 21, 2016 from 4-7 pm at the funeral home. Kathryn will lie in state at the church from 11:30 am Saturday until time of services. Those desiring may make contributions in Kathryn's memory to the Church Memorial Fund. Kathryn was born in Detroit Michigan on September 22, 1928 the daughter of the late: Andrew & Hattie Laarman and has resided in the Davison area since 1957. She was joined in marriage to Nelson Schaaf on June 6, 1948 in Lapeer Michigan. Kathryn attended Imlay City Schools, was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, and had been employed by Davison Community School until her retirement. She leaves to cherish her memory husband Nelson, daughters; Pam & Bryce Shelton, and Pat & Larry Vincent. Also her loving grandchildren; Tonya & Jeff Miller, Kristi & Kevin Quaid, and Amber & Hai Doan, her great grandchildren; Jeffrey, Luke, Bailey, Auran, Max, and Madilyn. She also leaves her sister Josephine "Jo" Schaaf , son-in-law Jace Summers, and a host of other relatives. She is preceded in death by sister Annabelle Walker, brothers Martin Laarman, Jerry Laarman, and Leonard Laarman.
