June Elizabeth Cantley(nee Doepker) age 90, died peacefully September 6, 2012, as she wished, "in the house my husband built for me". This was made possible with the devoted support and tender care of her youngest son Brian. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 12:00 noon Monday Sept. 10, 2012 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church 404 Dayton St. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski officiating, with private burial at St. John Cemetery. Family will receive visitors from 2:00 – 8:00 pm Sunday with a parish scripture service at 7:00 pm Sunday evening at the Funeral Home. Those desiring may make contributions in June's memory to the charity of your choice. June was born in Flint, on June 29, 1922 the daughter of the late: Wilna and Lawrence Doepker. She traveled by train, to marry Elmo Cantley in California on December 17, 1942, shortly before Elmo deployed for the Pacific Theatre. They spent fifty-four years together before he preceded her in death in 1997. After working in the defense industry during WW II, she became a fulltime homemaker as she and Elmo raised their ten children; Carla & Tom Greenewald, Dave & Sandy Cantley, Jan & Scott Hellikson, Mark & Linda Cantley, Dan & Dion Cantley, Jeff & Ling Cantley, Kevin & Dawn Cantley, Jim & Sandi Cantley, Steve & Sarah Cantley, and Brian Cantley. She delighted in her many grand and great grandchildren. She is also survived by sister Joan & Carl Jasin, and brother-in-law Oscar & Tonie Cantley.
