Joseph Robert Zachara of Davison, age 77, died Saturday June 9, 2026 at Henry Ford –Providence Hospital, Novi. Honoring his wishes cremation has taken place. Private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Those desiring may make contributions in Joseph’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Joseph was born in Hamtramck, Michigan on October 29, 1948 the son of the late Stanley and Agline Zachara, and has resided in the Davison area the last 10 years, spending most of his life in Ortonville. He was joined in marriage to Kathleen Norris on May 28, 1971 in Hamtramck. Joseph loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman and especially enjoyed his time with the granddaughters teaching them these sports. He had appetite for history and enjoyed his quite time reading about events in prior times, one of his favorite studies in history was John F. Kennedy. His love of music was an early career as a drummer in the band called Stonebridge. Joseph was a supporter of the Michigan Schools Systems through his continuous donations to the Michigan Lottery. He was a former member of Fenton Moose Lodge #403. Joseph was employed by Avon Custom Cabinetry in Auburn Hills.

He leaves his wife of 55 years Kathy, daughter Michelle and husband Dean Morales, daughter –in-law, Dayna Zachara, and his loving granddaughters Christina, and Hannah. He is also survived by sister: Anna Tomaka, and a host of extended family and friends. Joseph is preceded by his son Matthew.
