Joseph Selesky Jr. passed away Wednesday June 15, 2011. Joe was born in Grand Blanc, Michigan on February 5, 1921 to Joseph a. Selesky and Irene T. (Wright) Selesky. He was a 1939 graduate of Grand Blanc High School. Joe served in World War II with the 603rd Tank Company, First Calvary Division, Occupational Forces in Japan. On September 2, 1944, he married Helen Dorothy Cryderman of Flint. After the war, Joe and Helen, along with Joe's parents, farmed the family land on McCandish Road in Grand Blanc until 1969. After the sale of the farm, he worked for the Genesee county Road Commission, retiring in 1984. Joe and Helen moved from Grand Blanc to Goodrich in 1970, where he was active in the Lions Club and served on the Goodrich Planning Commission. In 1997 he moved to Davison where he resided until his death. Cremation has taken place and a private family memorial service will be held at the Perry-McFarlen Cemetery, Grand Blanc. A memorial gathering will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 pm Saturday July 30, 2011 at the Apollo Resturant Davison,for all his friends, family, and acquaintances. Joe is survived by son Albert (Janyce) Selesky of Coleman, Michigan and daughter Bethany (Richard) Miller of Barre, Virginia: grandchildren, Bradley, Katie, Joe, and Jon: and dear companion Gean Shram.
