John D. Rodgers age 73 of Davison passed away Sunday April 11, 2010 at Grand Blanc Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Saturday April 17, 2010 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church 404 N. Dayton St. Davison. Rev. Fr. George Puraidam M.S.F.S. celebrant. Burial at St. John Catholic Cemetery, Davison. Family will receive visitors Friday from 1-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Hansen Funeral Home 421 N. Main St. Downtown Davison. A Parish Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Friday at the Funeral Home. John will lie in state Saturday at the church from 10:00am until time of service. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Heart Association envelopes will be available at the funeral home. John was born in Flint, Mi. December 27 1936. the Son of Zollie and Joella (Tolan) Rodgers. Mr. Rodgers has resided in the Davison area for over 30 years. John married Patricia (Pidcock) in Flint at St. John Vianney Church on May 19, 1962. He was member of St. John Catholic Church; and also served his country in the U.S. Army. John worked for General Motors for 30 yrs. as a General Supervisor, Surviving is: Wife Patricia, Sons: Peter of Grand Blanc, Bob and (Julie) Rodgers of Atlanta, Ga. John & (Theresa) Rodgers of Davenport IA. Grandchildren: Madison, Bronson, Megan, Jacob, Colby. Brother: Paul Rodgers of Fenton. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Zollie & Joella (Tolan) Rodgers.
