John William Hornak III, of Burton age 65, died Saturday January 18, 2014 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Honoring his wishes cremation has taken place. Military Honors and Services will be held at 11:30 am Wednesday May 14, 2014 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly Michigan with Fr. Kenneth Coughlin officiating.. Those desiring may make contributions in John's memory to Genesys Hurley Cancer institute Flint, C/O Breast Cancer Awareness for Life. John was born in Franklin Township Pennsylvania the son of the late; John William & Anna Marie (Donnay) Hornak Jr. and had resided in the Burton area most of his life. He was a 1966 Graduate of Holy Redeemer High School, and a member of both the Veterans of Foreign War and the American Legion. Answering the call of his country John served in the US Navy from 1966 to 1988. He is survived by sisters, Karen Borton and Debbie Hodorovich, and a host of other relatives and friends.
