John Marion Christena, age 80, of Davison, died Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at Wellbridge of Grand Blanc. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, June 9, 2024 at Davison United Methodist Church 207 E. Third St. Davison; with Pastor Rob McPherson officiating with private burial in Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive visitors from 2-5 pm Saturday at the funeral home. John will lie in state at the church from 2:00 pm Sunday until time of services. Those desiring may make contributions in John's memory to the Church Memorial Fund or Compassus Hospice.

John was born in Sullivan, Indiana on June 26, 1943 the son of the late: Ray Christena and Patricia Bedwell and has resided in Davison the last three years spending most of his life in the Flint area. He was joined in marriage to Susan Johnson on August 20, 1966 and she preceded him in death on April 15, 1996. He later married Marianne Fortner on June 25, 2000. John graduated from Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio with a Bachelor Degree. John loved the water and spent numerous hours sailing and was a member of the Lake Fenton Sailing Club. John also had a passion for cars, especially classics and muscle cars. He was a member of Davison United Methodist Church, and had been employed by General Motors at many of their plants; he finally retired from Delphi East Flint West with over thirty-nine years in 2003.

He leaves to cherish his memory wife Marianne, his children: Amy Christena, Jeffrey Christena, and Stephen Christena. He also leaves step-children: Joseph (Julie) Myers, Thomas (Juanetta Manns) Dean and Trevor Dean. His surviving siblings: Julie (Don) McFall, Jim (Becky) Christena, Anna Christena, Mary (Ray) Paulsen, special members of the Johnson and Fortner families, and a host of extended families and friends.  Please share your condolences at www.hansenfuneralhome.net.
