John Alan Carter of Davison age 91, died Thursday August 22, 2019 at his residence. Private funeral services were held on Sunday August 25, 2019 at Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel, Downtown Davison, with cremation at Sunset Hills Crematory. Those desiring may make contributions in John's memory to Angelic Hospice or American Cancer Society.
John was born in Flint Michigan on March 3, 1928 the son of the late John & Mabel (Yule) Carter and has resided in the Davison area for over twenty-five years, spending many years of retirement in Atlanta Michigan. He was joined in marriage to Patricia Hollingshead on November 30, 1987. Answering the call of his country John proudly served in the US Army Airborne Infantry during WW II. He was a former member of the Elf Khurafeh Shrine, and Davison FOE #3589. He had been employed by General Motors Buick Division for over thirty-eight years retiring in November 1986.
Surviving is wife Patricia, his children Kathy and husband Jim Verslype, Jeff and wife Belinda Carter, and grandchildren; Carrie, Angela, Wayne, Bethany, Tom and Jennifer. He also leaves stepchildren, Scott and wife Tina Shephard, Mike and wife Mary Jo Pastukhov, and step-grandchildren, Robyn, Tricia, Logan, Rachel, John, Beth, Mike and a host of extended family.
