Joel Eugene Strickland of Burton, age 70, died Tuesday September 10, 2024 at McLaren-Flint Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday September 18, 2024 at Hansen Funeral Home, Groves Chapel, Downtown Davison. Rev. Sarah LaRose-Nettell officiating: with cremation to follow. Family will received visitors from 12:00 noon until time of services. Those desiring may make contributions in Joel's memory to the United Way.

Joel was born in Flint Michigan on July 8, 1954, the son of the late Robert and Artie (Lunsford) Strickland, and has resided in the Flint-Burton area his entire life. Joel had a passion for Rock & Blues music and was a phenmonal guitar player. A true master of the instrument. Joel enjoyed the open roads spending hours motorcycling. He loved his trips to Meijer's and watching and conversing about politics. In his early years Joel was a butcher, and later was employed by General Motors, Buick Division retiring in 2004.

Surviving is children; Hayli Strickland, and Daniel McComb. He also leaves his loving grandchildren Brandon, Randy, and Bryce. He also leaves his sister Melody Sherman, nephew William R.
