Joan Collette Johnston of Lapeer age 76 died Saturday December 18, 2021 at McLaren-Lapeer. Honoring her wishes cremation has taken place. Family will receive visitors Thursday December 30, 2021 from 11:00 am-3:00 pm at Hansen Funeral Home Downtown Davison. The family requests that masks be worn during visitation. Those desiring to make contributions in Joan's memory can be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital.

Joan was born in Pontiac, Michigan on January 30, 1945 the daughter of the late Walter and Nina (Sovey) Lehman, and had just relocated to Lapeer. She had spent most of her early life in the Milford area before retiring to Beaverton. She was joined in marriage to Daniel Johnston on November 30, 1963. Joan loved to quilt and had been a member of a Quilt Club for many years. She was a former member of the Ladies Red Hat Society. Joan had a true passion for writing and spent many hours writing poetry and short stories.

She leaves her husband of fifty-eight years Daniel, daughter Nikki Heister, and her loving grandchildren; Jordan & Mathias. She is preceded in death by brother Richard Lehman. Please share your condolences at www.hansenfuneralhome.net
