MILLER, Jennie C. of Davison formerly of Lapeer age 88 passed away Saturday August 8, 2009 at Brian's House Hospice of Davison. She was born in Lapeer, MI August 10, 1920 to the late Stanley and Sophie (Yorkowski) Piorkowski. Jennie was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Davison, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Lapeer, Lapeer Business and Professional Women's Club, American Legion Auxiliary and Lapeer Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed golf, bingo, her flower gardens and being with her beloved family, especially attending her grandchildren's many sporting events and shows. Jennie worked as a cashier at the A&P Store when it was located in downtown Lapeer. She then went to work as a bank teller at Lapeer County Bank & Trust Company. She truly enjoyed her job, greeting her many loyal customers with a warm hello and always a smile on her face. In appreciation, the bank honored her with her own "Jennie Miller Day", attended by all her family, friends and customers she loved so dearly. Jennie is survived by her children: Art Miller of Grand Blanc, Patricia (David) Drzewiecki of Lapeer, William (Sue) Miller of Lapeer, Jeffrey (Jane) Miller of Lapeer, and 12 grandchildren: Bryan, Chris, Scott, Lance, Jennifer, Jason, Erica, Bill, Melissa, Michelle, Lindsay, and Bradley; 5 great grandchildren, Laura, Hannah, Gabrielle, Nicholas, and Isabella, and sister Genevieve Carpenter. She was preceded in death by: sister Stella Boots, Lottie Cook, Irene Rowden and Lillian Turscak; brothers; Vincent, Zigmond and John Piorkowski. Memorial contributions may be made to Brian's House of Davison or Immaculate Conception Building Fund. A funeral memorial mass will be held on Friday August 14, 2009 at 11:00 am at Immaculate Conception Church of Lapeer. Fr. Aaron DePeyster will officiating. Honoring her wishes cremation has taken place. Private burial in Mt. Loretto Cemetery in Lapeer.
