Jean Shirley Bauer of Davison age 90, died Friday May 29, 2015 at Hurley Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Monday June 1, 2015 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church 404 Dayton St. Davison, Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski, Celebrant. Rite of Committal will follow at St. John Cemetery. Family will receive visitors from 6-8 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Jean will lie in state at the church from 10:00 am Monday until time of services. Those desiring may make contributions in Jean's memory to the Church Memorial Fund or the Fairwinds Girl Scout Council. Jean was born in Minneapolis Minnesota on February 24, 1925 the daughter of the late Wilson & Susan (Dillenberg) Preston and has resided in the Davison area since 1960. She was joined in marriage to Richard Bauer on October 9, 1948 in Minnesota. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Davison and had been employed at St. John Catholic School for many years. She was active in the Davison Business Women, the Girl Scouts and was an avid camper with her husband for many years. She leaves to cherish her memory; husband Richard, children; Susan & Jim Forro, Mary & Edward Francis Jr, Laurie & Don Garant, her six grandchildren; Kristin (Brian), Gabriel (fiancé Sandra), Everett, Kathryn, Mary Ellen (fiancé Matt) and Donald James, great grandchildren Austin, Hunter and Lucas.
