James Fredrick Williams of Davison age 86, died Tuesday December 29, 2015 at Genesee Care Center, Grand Blanc. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 pm Sunday January 3, 2016 at the Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel, Downtown Davison. Pastor Debbie Simmons officiating: with private burial at a later date on the family plot. Family will receive visitors from 1:00 pm Sunday until time of services. Those desiring may make contributions in James's memory to the Humane Society. This wonderful man, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend; was born in Flint Michigan on July 30, 1929 the son of the late Fredrick & Claudia (Lewis) Williams. Answering the call of his country James served in the US Army and was an active member of the Davison VFW Post 4087 for many years and a proud Veteran. He also was a member of the Masonic Rite and an active member of the Shiners' for many years. He started his working career with Standard Cotton of Flint; he then became employed by General Motors V-8 Engine Division retiring in 1992. He is survived by sons; David Williams, Dan & wife Sharon Williams, step daughters; Marilyn & husband Brian Keen, Krista Mayhew and special friend Matt Ruble, and stepson Mark & wife Debbie Wraight. He also leaves many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives. He is preceded by wife's Bessie Vavra, and Gladys Fogle-Wraight, grandson Mark Wraight II, daughter Brenda Williams, grandson Jeff Reagle, and brother Billy Joe Williams.
