James Oliver Ude formally of Davison age 66 passed away Thursday January 26, 2012 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital of Ypsilanti, MI. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday February 1, 2012 at the Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel Downtown Davison. Rev. Bruce Garner officiating: Burial at Davison Cemetery, with Military Honors under the auspices of Davison VFW Post 4087. Family will receive visitors from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. James was born in Detroit, Michigan on July 28, 1945 the son of the late Oliver and Maxine (Sturgeon) Ude and has resided in the Davison area most of his life. He was joined in marriage to Bettyann Dunk on March 25, 1976. Jim was graduate of Florida Central Acamdemy in 1964, Onarga Military School in Elwood Park, Illinois, and Northwood University. Answering the call of his country Jim served in US Army 82nd Airborne during Vietnam from 1966 to 1969. Surviving is wife: Betty; son Troy; grandsons: Preston and Cameron Ude; brother: Bill Ude; sisters: Patricia Ude and Cindee and husband Arnold Shaffer.
