James Eugene Ginger of Millington, age 88, died Monday June 19, 2017 at Angela Hospice Care Center, Livonia. A funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Millington United Methodist Church 9020 State Rd., Millington Mich 48746. Pastor John Britt officiating with burial at Great Lakes National Cemetery on July 7, 2017 at 1:00  pm. Mr. Ginger will lie in state at the church from 1:00 pm Thursday until time of services. Those desiring may make contributions in James's name to the charity of their choice. James was born in Morehouse, Missouri, the son of the late William Daniel & Ida May (Young) Ginger, and has resided in the Millington area the last fifty-two years.  He was joined in marriage to Vera L. Hull on August 24, 1956 in Flint Michigan. Answering the call of his country James served in the US Army during the Korean War. James was a member of Millington United Methodist Church. He had been employed by the City of Flint until his retirement in the mid 1980's. Surviving is wife Vera, children; Gwen Ginger, Gregory & wife Samantha Ginger, Diane & husband John Desaulniers, Dawn Ginger, and David Ginger. He also is survived by his nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and sister Arlene & husband Gene Poliskey.
