James Lawrence Gerow of Davison, age 84, passed away peacefully Thursday August 19, 2021 at the Pines of Lapeer. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 noon Wednesday August 25, 2021 at St. John Evangelist Catholic Church 404 Dayton St. Davison, Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski, Celebrant. Private burial will be held in St. John Cemetery at a future date. Family will receive visitors from 11:00 AM until time of services at the church. Those desiring to make any contributions in James's memory are asked to send donations to St John Church Memorial Fund.

James was born In Flint Michigan on July 1, 1937 the son of the late Vern & Vivian (Gasper) Gerow and has resided in the Flint area most of his life. He was joined in marriage to Yvonne Madore on April 19, 1958 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Davison. James enjoyed the outdoors and was a lifetime member of the Snowshoe Hunting Camp. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and kind enough to drag all his boys on excursions no matter how disruptive they were to the mission. He was Scout Leader for the Flushing Boy Scout Troop, Coached Football and Baseball. He enjoyed traveling, camping with his wife and woodcarving. James loved music and was a member of the Flint Banjo Club for many years. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, a graduate of GMI and employed by General Motors AC-Delco Division for over thirty-four years retiring in 1994. Later in his years, he was the master of one-liners. Even with his full on Alzheimer's he still managed to pick them out of thin air and double you over gasping for your next breath.

He leaves to cherish in his memory wife Yvonne, children: Doug Gerow and Margaret, Pat and wife Deb Gerow, Tony Gerow and Jackie, Karen Gerow and David, Nancy and husband Pat Ranger, and Dan and wife Marie Gerow. He also leaves his loving thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. His siblings Sue and husband Malcolm MacLean, Tom and wife Edna Gerow, Dave and wife Anne Gerow, and a host of extended family and friends
