Jacqueline was born in Flint, Michigan on October 8, 1930 the daughter of the late Basil and Vivian (Cornell) Welch. Jackie was joined in marriage to Robert Ferguson, who, with his mother and siblings operated Ferguson Block Company, on October 22, 1949. She lived in Richfield Township/Davison area the rest of her life. Robert preceded her death on October 23, 2007.
Jacqueline, known as Grandma Jackie, was always ready to help, baking a pie, driving children, grandchildren and nieces and nephews, volunteering at the Flint Eastside Mission, keeping up with her many friends and large family. She was a member of the Richfield Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed Sunday School and the community of the church. She loved puttering in her garden, baking, and teaching grandchildren, great nieces, and others how to bake the perfect pie. She could be feisty and funny, and loved to tell the semi romantic story of how she met Robert. She volunteered at the Flint Eastside Mission for many years. Jacqueline also worked alongside her husband Robert at Ferguson Block Company.
She is survived by children: Steve (partner Ailsa Wonnacott) Ferguson, Ginny husband Michael Thorp, son-in-law Robert Schiller; grandchildren: Amanda (Foster) Whitworth, Rebecca Schiller, Morgan (Derek) Pedersen, Adam McGrath, Libby (TJ) Crawforth, and Ella (Brett) McAndrew; great grandchildren: Fim, Orson, Hadley, Carter, Emersyn, and Evelyn, and a host of extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her daughter Jane Schiller 2022 and sister Virginia Funsch. A special thank you to the caring staff at Americana Assisted Living.
