Irene Johnston of Flushing age 101 died Thursday August 22, 2013 at Durand Senior Care Center. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday August 24, 2013 at Community Hope Church of God, Flushing. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Dublin Virginia. Mrs. Johnston will lie in state at the church from 10:00 am Saturday until time of services. Irene was born in Cumberland Gap, Tennessee on August 11, 1922 the daughter of Rev. Wiley & Lovenia (Winegar) Ellis. She was joined in marriage to Zack C. Johnston and he preceded her in death January 5, 1985. Surviving are children: Roslea & Robert Johnson, Michael & Susan Johnston, and David & Patty Johnston. grandchildren: Jill Johnston, Marcy Johnston, and David Johnston.
