Herbert L. Chisnell of Genesee Township, age 81, died Wednesday December 3, 2014 at McLaren-Flint. Honoring his wishes cremation has taken place. Military Honors and burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery will be held at 2:30 pm Thursday December 11, 2014. Those desiring may make contributions in Herbert's memory to the charity of your choice. Herbert was born in Pontiac Michigan on January 10, 1933 the son of the late: Herbert & Helen (Spencer) Chisnell, and has resided in Flint area since 1955. He was joined in marriage to Shirley Cheney on June 4, 1955. Answering the call of his country Herbert served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a member of FOP and had been employed by Flint City Police Department for over 27 years retiring in 1980. He leaves his wife of over fifty-nine years, Shirley, son Mark and wife Linda Chisnell, daughters: Marcie and husband Fred Rhode, Maria and husband Mark Burnash. He also leaves his grandchildren Christopher, Stephanie, Nicholas, and Casey. His sister Jean and husband Ed Adams, brother Duane and wife Janet Chisnell, and hast of other relatives.
