Helen Margaret Saugstad of Davison age 93 died Tuesday January 26, 2010 at Melody Pines Care Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday January 29, 2010 at the Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel, Downtown Davison. Deacon Dan Zudel officiating. Burial in Davison Cemetery. Family will receive visitors from 1-4 and 6-8 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions in Helen's memory to Brian's House Hospice. Helen was born in Piper City Illinois on March 16, 1916 the daughter of the late; Edwin & Nelle (Herron) Truitt, and has resided in Davison most of her life. She was joined in marriage to Robert Saugstad July 19, 1941 and he preceded her in death March 30, 1985. Helen was an honorary member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church, Otisville. Helen had been employed by the Davison State Bank and Magyar Jewelry Store in Downtown Davison for many years. She leaves to cherish her memory: Daughter Yvonne (Bill) Bishop, granddaughters; Cindi Gray, and Dorrie (Joel) Karwat. Great grandchildren: Cole Gray Sheridan Gray and Christien Karwat. Special friends: Evelyn Mahar and Rita Parini.
