Harold Clyde Cockerill, of Davison age 94 died Saturday August 4, 2012 at Grand Blanc Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday August 6, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church 706 W. Flint St. Davison. Rev. Todd Frusti officiating: with burial in Davison Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Cockerill will lie in state at the church form 10:00 am Monday until time of services. Those desiring may make contributions in Harold's memory to Trinity Lutheran Church. Harold was born in Flint Michigan July 30, 1918 the son of Clyde & Nettie (Stork) Cockerill, and has resided in Davison his entire life. He was joined in marriage to Dorothy Brooks on June 7, 1941 and she preceded him in death October 9, 2001. Harold was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and had served as an Elder for over fifty years. He had been a member of the Davison Lions Club and was an avid bowler. Harold owned and operated the Lapeer Glass Company until his retirement in 1990. Surviving are sisters: Lucille Slankard, Joyce (Pat) Lynn, and Carolyn Cockerill. Numerous: grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives. He is preceded in death by daughter Nancy Lyle, and sons Leroy, Larry, and Tom Cockerill.
