Gloria Colleen Watters, of Davison, age 92, died Friday October 11, 2019 at the Cottage of Davison.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday October 15, 2019 at Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel, Downtown Davison. Dorothea Weist officiating: private burial in Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive visitors from 5-8 pm Monday and 11 am Tuesday until time of service. Those desiring may make contribution in Gloria's memory to Outreach East.
Gloria was born in Flint Michigan on August 27, 1927 the daughter of the late George & Florence (Dye) Vohwinkle and has resided in the Davison area her entire life. She was joined in marriage to Kenneth G. Watters on December 3, 1950 at the Davison First Baptist Church. Gloria was a 1945 graduate of Davison High School, and a member of Davison First Baptist Church. Gloria was truly a supporter of the Davison Community, having spent numerous years and was a charter member of Davison Business Women, serving many years on the High School Scholarship Committee. She was a board member and volunteer for many years at Outreach East. Her visions continue today as an original founding member of Davison Pumpkin Festival which is shared by all young and old. Her faith was important to her and she was an active member of her church chorus and numerous committees and boards. Her community recognized her for her many accomplishment as Senior Citizen of the Year. While she enjoyed painting and crafts her true love of family was recognized, with trips to Hubbard Lake, family gatherings, and setting the standards for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren to live by. Gloria had been employed by Williams Gun Sight Co. for thirty three years until retiring.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of sixty nine years Ken, children; Robyn and Jeff Provost, and Judy and Dave Love. Also her loving grandchildren; Shawn Salgat, Kara (Shawn) Gatzemeyer, Cortney Provost, Rachael (Adam) Gagne, Jeff (Kristen) Love, her great grandchildren; Garrett, Mackenzie, Jackson, Katelynne, Wyatt, and Parker. Also surviving is brother Ralph "Butch" and Nancy Vohwinkle and host of extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by grandson Chad Provost, and brothers; George Vohwinkle and Robert "Bob" Vohwinkle. Please share your condolences at www.hansenfuneralhome.net
