Gerald D. "Jerry" Natzke of Davison, age 85, died Friday May 5, 2017 at Stonegate Health Campus, Lapeer. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday May 12, 2017 at Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel, Downtown Davison. Pastor Joseph Berkobien officiating, burial to follow at Smith-Hill Cemetery. Family will receive visitors from 3-8 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions in Jerry's memory to Special Olympics, Whaley Children Home, or ASPCA.  Gerald was born in Flint Michigan on March 20, 1932 the son of the late: Lorein & Mildred (Pear) Natzke and had spent most of his life in the Burton area and  Davison since 2000. He was a graduate of Northern High School Class of 1950 and during that time he excelled in Football, Basketball and Baseball and was recognized in the Valley Conference in all three sports. He went on to play Semi-professional basketball, and then he became an avid golfer in his later years. Answering the call of his country Jerry proudly served in the US Army. He was joined in marriage to Alice Peters on April 16, 1955 in Flint and she preceded him in death on January 4, 2012. He had been employed by General Motors Buick Division until his retirement on April 1, 1982. Surviving are children; Dr. Gerald 'Jed" Natzke and wife Lisa, Kim Natzke-Amon, and Jeff Natzke and wife Allison. He also leaves his eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, brother William Natzke and wife Joan, sister-in-law Jean Natzke and a host of other relatives.
