Gerald Leon "Jerry" Howarth of Oscoda formerly of Wolverine Lake, age 76, died Friday November 14, 2014 at St. Mary's Hospital, Saginaw. Honoring his wishes cremation has taken place. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Friday November 21, 2014 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church 404 Dayton St. Davison, Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski, Celebrant. Those desiring may make contributions in Jerry's memory to the Michigan Humane Society or The Ark Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. Gerald was born in Detroit Michigan on January 27, 1938 the son of the late: Frank S. & Myrtle (Vincent) Howarth. He spent most of his life in Wolverine Lake retiring to Oscoda in 2001. He was joined in marriage to his loving wife of fifty-three years Priscilla Hrischuk on October 14, 1961 in Hazel Park Michigan. Honoring his country Jerry served in the Army National Guard and was a member of both the Oscoda American Legion and VFW. His passion of animals became a mission of advocacy for all animals especially the northern wolves. He had been employed as a data entry and computer specialist for both the Dana Corporation and Dominos Farms until his retirement. He leaves to cherish his memory wife Priscilla "Pat", daughter Kathleen & husband Lindsay Bishop, sons; Daniel & wife Julie Howarth, and Frank Howarth. His cherished and loving grandchildren: Kristina, Tyler, Kaitlyn, Sara, and Kasey. Also his brother Warren & wife Sally Howarth, and numerous extended family and close friends.
