Gary Don Vance of Flint, age 76, died Sunday July 23, 2017 at McLaren –Flint. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday July 27, 2017 at North Flushing Baptist Church 7500 Mt. Morris Rd. Flushing. Pastor Dale Lewis officiating, Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive visitors from 3 – 8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Vance will lie in state at the church from 10:00 am Thursday until time of services, Gary was born in Hollywood Missouri on October 8, 1940 the son of the late: Cloyce & Ollie (Lane)Vance and had resided in the Flint area most of his life. He was joined in marriage to Ruby Izora Lair on December 10, 1960 in Miami Oklahoma and she preceded him in death on May 27, 2011. Gary was a member of North Flushing Baptist Church, and had been employed by General Motors Fisher Body Division until his retirement in 2001. He leaves children: Billy (Debbie) Vance, Donny (Rene`) Vance, Mandy (Mike) Shustock, and Tim (Tara) Vance. He also leaves his loving grandchildren; Justin, Joey, Brittany, Shelby, Dakota, Dani Rae, Gavin, Annie, Micah, Joseph, Samuel and five great grandchildren. He also leaves his sister Pam Bryant and a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by sister Sonja Vance. The family would like to thank the staffs, of McLaren-Flint Emergency Room and ICU for their support and compassion during their dad's hospitalization.
