Gary James Mead, born April 3, 1958 went to be with his Lord the morning of April 6, 2010 at 52 years of age after a brave two year battle with cancer. Gary is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of twenty-six years, Anne Mead, by his mother, Charlotte Howard, his older brother Robert (Bob) Mead and younger sister Charlene Howard. Gary is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, sister-in laws, brother-in laws, nieces and nephews. Gary was preceded in death by his older sister, Diane Mead, younger brother baby James Howard, and father Amon James Howard.

An adventuresome spirit, Gary enjoyed scuba diving, sky-diving, snow skiing, boating, fishing, and nature walks. Always curious Gary enjoyed traveling, including vacations to Fiji, Australia, Brazil, Mexico, the Bahamas, various Caribbean Islands and Hawaii. An accomplished mechanic who began at a young age working with his Dad at A.J. Howard Used Cars, he relished working with cars, motor-cycles, and machinery repair projects. More than any other activity, Gary treasured time with family, recounting goofy teenage adventures with his brother Bob, and constantly creating new family memories.

Gary was well loved and will be dearly missed and often remembered. A private memorial service has been held.
