Gary Monty McGrath of Davison, age 73, died peacefully Wednesday October 12, 2022 at his residence. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday October 15, 2022 at Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel, Downtown Davison, Rev. Sarah LaRose-Nettell officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday October 19, 2022 at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Family will receive visitors from 2-5 pm Friday at the funeral home.

Gary was born in Flint Michigan on December 9, 1948 the son of Clement and Lorene (Powell) McGrath and has resided in the Davison area since 1982. He was joined in marriage to Maryann Woodard on November 24, 1974. Answering the call of his country Gary proudly served in the US Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. Gary enjoyed playing cards and was an avid sports enthusiast spending time with family watching football and baseball, and especially the Detroit Tigers.  He had been employed by General Motors Buick Division until his retirement.

Surviving is his wife of over forty-seven years Maryann, and his children Monica McGrath, and Randy Manley. He also leaves grandchildren JP (Jamie) Fowler, John Lepard, Justin Lepard, Marisah (Charles) Heiser, Ava Manley, and several other grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He also leaves his mother and step-father Lorene (Howard) Eldridge, brother Clement (Kathy) McGrath, sisters: Judy (Carmen) Campbell, Angie (Brian) Bell, and a host of extended family and friends.
