Garnie Rogers of Richfield Township age 77 passed away Tuesday January 26, 2010 at Hurley Medical Center. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday January 30, 2010 at the Shawn Baptist Church 2493 N. Genesee Rd. Burton. Pastor Raymond Cocke officiating. Mr. Rogers will lie in state at the church from 10:00 am until time of services. Family will receive visitors from 4-8 pm on Friday at the funeral home. A Masonic service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday evening under the auspices of Davison Masonic Lodge 236 F& AM. Those desiring may make contribution to the family or the Shriner Children's Hospital. Garnie was born in Patsey KY December 6, 1932 the son of the late Harry and Carlie (Coldwell) Rogers. He was joined in marriage to Guadalupe Rodriguez September 22, 1979. Garnie owned and operated Rogers & Son Garage for many years in Flint. He was a long time member of the Shawn Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge 352 in Kentucky. Surviving are wife, Guadalupe; children, Peggy (Steve) Hughes, Gary (Joy) Rogers, Carol (Fred) Stegall, Patty (Dennis) Crawford, Richard (Angela) Healy, Michelle (Bruce) McDaniel, and Auston Rogers Healy, 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; sister. Adrew Slyder; and a host of other relatives. He is preceded in death by sister Renavay, and Brothers: Harry Jr. and Wendall.
