Floyd Ralph Stephens of Burton, age 93 died Sunday January 5, 2020 at his residence. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Thursday January 9, 2020 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church 404 Dayton St. Davison, Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski, Celebrant. Burial will be held at 1:00 pm Friday January 10, 2020 at St. Joseph Cemetery, West Branch Michigan. Family will receive visitors from 3-7 pm Wednesday at the funeral home with a parish scripture service at 6:30 pm. Floyd will lie in state from 10 am Thursday until time of services at the church.
Floyd was born in West Branch Township, Michigan on July 30, 1926 the son of the late Joseph W. & Emma M. (Stoll) Stephens and has spent most of his life in the Burton area. He was joined in marriage to Leona Illig in 1947. Answering the call of his country Floyd served in the US Army during WW II, he was a graduate of St. Joseph Catholic School in West Branch and had been employed by General Motors Truck and Bus Division with over thirty-seven years before retiring.
Surviving is his wife of seventy-two years Leona, sons Larry Stephens of Burton, Dennis Stephens of West Branch, and Mark Stephens of Atlanta Georgia. He also leaves his brother Victor Stephens of California, and a host of extended family. He is preceded in death by brothers; Stanley, Raymond, Joseph, George Forrest, and his sisters; Evelyn DeMerrritt, and Thelma Hiller. Please share your condolences at www.hansenfuneralhome.net
