Eve “Evie” Marie Gartee of Otter Lake, age 84, died Monday October 26, 2026 at McLaren-Lapeer Regional Hospital. Born in Flint, Michigan on July 16, 1942, Eve was the daughter of the late Harry and Eva Gilbert and a lifelong resident of Otter Lake. For many years, Eve was the owner and operator of “The Klutterbug” antique shop in downtown Millington. Eve enjoyed hunting for treasures at local garage sales, dancing, music, and gardening.

Eve is survived by her children: Jill and husband Joe Candela, Susan and husband Tom Driver, Shawn and wife Christine Gartee, and Donovan Gartee; grandchildren: Joseph, James, Corey, Kameron, Mia, Madison, Moss, Jeremy, and Derek; 10 great grandchildren; and host of extended family and friends. Eve is preceded in death by her sister: Roberta “Robbie” Pethers.

Honoring her wishes, there will be no public services. Those desiring to make a contribution in Eve’s memory may donate to Genesee County Humane Society in her honor.
