Ethel Mary Gilbert of Lapeer, formerly of Flint, age 92, died Friday August 12, 2022 at Lapeer County Medical Care Facility. Ethel was born in Jasper Township, Michigan on July 30, 1930. The daughter of the late Roy and Catherine (Maslowsky) Smith resided in the Flint area for many years. She was joined in marriage to the late James Gilbert (d.2000) on October 12, 1950. Ethel was a member of Pine Island VFW Auxiliary #4353, the Pine Island Moose Lodge #1843, and American Legion Coast #136. She later shared her retirement time between Lupton, Michigan and Pine Island, Florida.

Ethel is survived by her daughter Debra (Gilbert) Rincon, sons, Tim (Linda) Gilbert, Tom (Robin) Gilbert, daughter-in-law Maureen Gilbert. She also leaves her fourteen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and a host of extended family.  She is proceeded in death by son Ron Gilbert, grandson Ryan Gilbert, brothers, William Smith, Tom Smith, Don Smith, Bob Smith, sister Irene Forest, step children Jeanette (Ed) Day and James Gilbert Jr.

A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 3:00pm Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Hansen Funeral Home Grove Chapel in Downtown Davison, with Fr.
