Ernest M. Swain of Holly formerly of Davison age 82 died Sunday August 29, 2010 at his residence. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday September 2, 2010 at the Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel, Downtown Davison. Pastor Jerry Spring Officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Family will recieve visitors from 6-8 pm Tuesday and 1-4 and 6-8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Ernest was born in Flint, Michigan October 17, 1927 the son of the late; Arthur and Mildred (Barnes) Swain and had resided in the Holly area since 1966. He was joined in marriage to Monnie Pittenger September 30, 1948 in Angolia Indiana. Mr. Swain had worked in the Auto Collision Departments for Graff Ford and Graff Chevorlet retiring in 1992. He leaves to cherish his memory wife, Monnie, children: Karen Newbury, Kathy and husband Tom Berry, Michael Swain, Pat and wife Kelly Swain, and Ellen and husband Bob Berry. Seventeen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, sister Bettie Hacker, brother Melvin and wife Judy Swain, and a host of other relatives. He is preceded in death by grandson; Scott Mathew Berry, two sisters, and four brothers.
