Elmer James Bailey of Elba Township age 85 died Sunday March 13, 2022 at his residence. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Friday March 18, 2022 at Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel Downtown Davison. Rev. Sarah LaRose-Nettell officiating with burial at Greenwood Cemetery. Family will receive visitors from 2:00-7:00pm Thursday at the funeral home.

Elmer was born in Almont, Michigan on December 13, 1936 the son of the late Perry and Evelyn (Munson) Bailey and resided in the Lapeer area his entire life. He was joined in marriage to Grace Jarrett on December 28, 1957 and she preceded him in death April 19, 2016. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching TV-Western Movies. Elmer also enjoyed driving his motorcycle and he also boxed in high school. He was employed by General Motors before retiring in 1986.

He is survived by children: Elmer "Jim" and wife Judy Bailey, and Shirley and husband Gail Serr; granddaughters: Melissa and husband Mike Castro, and Evelyn Joyce Prevett; great grandchildren: Madison Grace Prevett, Kainoah Castro, EliKai Castro, and Kaidan Castro; brother: Bill Bailey; sister: Dolly Davis-Hicks, and host of other relatives and friends.
