Obituary

Elizabeth Jane Jobe went to be with the Lord on her birthday, February 1, 2018. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Saturday, February 24, 2018 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St., Davison, MI; Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant.

Elizabeth was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania on February 1, 1946, daughter of the late Harry and Elizabeth (Grmitter) Pilkington, and wife of the late Clifford Henry Jobe. She and Clifford shared much love and laughter during their 40+ years of marriage. Elizabeth was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary – VFW of Burton for many years. She was also an active volunteer at Holy Rosary Catholic School from 1991-1998. Elizabeth missed her home in Philadelphia, as well as her hoagies, Philly cheesesteaks, and big, soft pretzels. She was excited to learn that the Philadelphia Eagles were going to the Super Bowl. Elizabeth enjoyed the ocean, watching birds perch on her bird feeder, hummingbirds feeding on the nectar outside of her window, playing bingo and the lottery, watching Turner Classic Movies and The Chew, and listening to music. She also had a crush on Bon Jovi. Elizabeth also loved playing and cuddling with her cats, Mena and Shadow. She looked forward to seeing all of her grandchildren, as she would listen attentively to Anjelica's thoughts, chat with Tara on the phone, belly laugh at Kenneth's jokes and goofy dances, and would look forward to her daily lunches and "cappuccino days" with her granddaughter, Jessica, while watching Hotel Transylvania or Who Wants to Be a Millionaire . Whether you called her "Elizabeth," "Jane," "Mom or Mommy," "Janey-girl," "Lady J," or "Granny," she would steal your heart with her sharp-tongue, quick wit, her quirky sayings, and her spunky demeanor. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Elizabeth is survived by her four children, Antoinette (John) Safran, Nancy Vizcarra, Theresa Simpson, and Clifford Jobe; grandchildren, Jessica (Joseph) Hoover, Korey Jobe, Tara Jobe, Anjelica Hunter, and Annabelle Hunter; great-grandchildren Kailee, Kenneth Jr. Tristan, Kayden Ace, Lexi, Jasmine, Anjelina, and Cecilia; 2 brothers and 1 sister. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifford Henry Jobe; brother, Vincent Pilkington; and grandson, Kenneth White.
