Elizabeth Mary Emery- of Burton, age 40, died Wednesday January 19, 2011 at her residence with her mother at her side. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday 24, 2011 at St. Michael Catholic Church, 609 E. Fifth Ave. Fr. A. Santhiyagu officiating. Family will receive visitors 1-4 and 6-8pm Sunday January 23, 2011 at the funeral home. A parish scripture will be prayed at 7:00pm Sunday at the funeral home. Elizabeth will lie in state at the church from 10:00am Monday until the time of services.Those desiring may make contributions in Elizabeth's memory to St. Michael Catholic Church or the charity of your choice.
Elizabeth was born March 13, 1970 in Flint Michigan. Liz was a charismatic, loving, fun person who made friends everywhere she went. She attended Holy Rosary, Kearsley and Baker College schools. Liz bravely fought Hodgkin's Lymphoma at the age of 19. She lived as active life as her beaten body would allow, not compromising the quality of years for her quantity on Earth. Her last months were spent communicating with her numerous friends and family. She was talented at knowing the right words to bring comfort, humor and joy to people. Although, she was not physically a mother, she became a second mother to her brother's, sister's and friend's children. She kept them close to her heart always. She leaves to cherish her memory: mother, Margaret Emery, siblings, Thomas (Mynug Sook) Emery of Santa Barbara Ca., Joseph (Luana) Emery of Flint Mi., Mary (Richard) Yee of Santa Barbara Ca., Louis (Gloria) Emery of Lompoe Ca., Ann (Scott) McLane of Thomaston Ca., Julie (Pat) Kelly of Flint Mi., Tina Stovesand of Lompoe Ca., 21 nephews and 15 nieces. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her father David Joseph Emery and brother David Paul Emery. The family wishes to give special thanks and praise to Dr. Rizwan Danish-Oncologist, Dr. Ethiraj Raj- Cardiologist, and Dr. Josephine Bello-Primary Physician.
