Elizabeth Louise Bailey, Of Flint township MI, age 89, passed away peacefully Wednesday Oct 7/2026 with her beloved family by her side. The family will receive visitors on Saturday October 17, 2026 from 12-4pm at Hansen Funeral home in Downtown Davison. A private entombment will be held at St John’s Cemetery with Fr. Andrew Czajkowski officiating at later date.
Elizabeth better known as Betty , was born in Detroit MI on March 20/1937. She was the loving daughter of the Late Christopher And Mabel (Prevost) Mayer. Betty resided in Davison MI from 1965-1988 where she raised her 3 daughters, Laura, Sandie and Bonnie.She was a member of St John Evangelist Catholic Church, which she attended for many years. Betty took comfort in her faith, often praying for the well being of those she loved. In 1988 she relocated to Upper Peninsula of MI, following the marriage of beloved husband Richard Bailey. Sadly Richard passed away in 1996 resulting in her return to the Genesee county area, where she could be closer to family and friends. Betty loved life’s everyday treasures, trips to the casino, the quiet focus of a puzzle, the joy of dancing, her shopping trips, and searching for lucky 4 leaf clovers whenever she was outdoors. She was a wonderful cook, and enjoyed catering special events for family and friends. Her heart was always fullest, when surrounded by her daughters and grandchildren. Betty was kind, compassionate, and caring; she forgave quickly and offered grace and mercy to those she loved. Along with an unforgettable laugh, beautiful smile and uplifting spirit… She will be remembered most for making her loved ones feel truly special. In reality she was truly was the special one.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children.. Laura Elder (Fred) , Sandra and husband (Robert)Stokes, Bonnie and husband (Timothy) Stokes, Son James and Wife (Terrie) Mayday, 8 Grandchildren , and 13 Great grandchildren, Brother George Mayer, and a host of family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Richard, her Grandson Nicholas Stokes, her siblings Junior, Delores, Virginia, and Eleanor. Please share your condolences at WWW.HansenFuneralHome.net
