Elizabeth Christina "Chris" Bemis of Genesee Township, age 87, died Tuesday August 12, 2014 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday August 15, 2014 at the Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel, Downtown Davison. Private burial will follow at Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive visitors from 2-5 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions in her memory to the Alzheimer Foundation. Elizabeth was born Sterling Scotland on January 27, 1927 the daughter of the late: John & Mary (Skeffington) Byrne and has resided in the area since her arrival from Scotland in 1955. She was joined in marriage to James Bemis August 1, 1959 and he preceded her in death July 9, 2008. Chris was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She leaves to cherish her memory daughter, Linda and husband John Roberts. Grandchildren Heaven Leigh Roberts, and John Joseph Roberts III.
