Eileen E. Tanyi of Flint, age 93, died Thursday December 31, 2015 at Kith Haven Nursing Center. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday January 5, 2016 at Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel, Downtown Davison. Chaplain Todd Regester officiating, burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Family will receive visitors from 5-8 pm Monday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions in Eileen's memory to the family. Eileen was born in Flint Michigan on September 29, 1922, the daughter of the late Charles & Ethel (Winstanley) Delaney, and has resided in the Flint area her entire life. She was joined in marriage to Arthur A. Tanyi on January 10, 1943 and he preceded her in death on February 27, 1982. Eileen always enjoyed sending greeting cards to family and friends, and also cherished her time with family. Eileen was also very proud of her British heritage. Surviving are sons: Art and wife Jill Tanyi, and Craig and wife Yvonne Tanya. She also leaves grandchildren; Katie and husband Cary Ewing, Matt and wife Rachel Tanyi, Jessica Tanya, Brock Tanya, great granddaughter Madison Ewing, and a host of other relatives. She is preceded in death by her brother Sydney Delaney, and sister Mae Burnash.
