Edward Walter Golec II of Davison, age 74, died Monday December 3, 2018 at his residence. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Monday December 10, 2018 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church 404 Dayton St. Davison. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski, Celebrant.  Family will receive visitors from 10:00 am Monday until time of services at the church. He was born in Flint Michigan on May 25, 1944 the son of the late: Edward & Rebecca (Jamieson) Golec and has resided in the Davison area the last forty-one years. He was joined in marriage to Collette Case on April 30, 1966. Ed was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, a member of Knights of Columbus Council 4090, and FOP Lodge 126. Ed was an avid hunter and outdoorsman and truly enjoyed the years of deer hunting camp with his friends. He had been employed by Flint City Police Department for over twenty-five years retiring in July 1993. After his retirement he returned to work at Baker College in the Security Division for thirteen years.

Surviving is wife Collette, daughter Kristyne (Mark) Traver, granddaughter Kasey Proctor, sister Judy Slosar, and nephews: Christopher Slosar, & Matthew Slosar.  He also leaves his sister-in law & brother-in-law: Cassey & Bernie Mieslik, niece, Jennifer (Jeff Lutze) Mieslik, great nephew Douglas Edmonson, and cousin, Dr. Peter (Cindy) Jamieson.
